「最近僕が見つけたやり方は、“名前をなくす”ことです。たとえば“コップ“は液体を入れて飲むことに使う道具ですが、それ以上のものではありません。でもその名前を取ってしまえば、花瓶やペン立てに使おうとか、金魚を飼おうとか、積み上げて建物を作っちゃおうとか、自由な発想が出てくる。すると結構いろんな使い方が想像できて面白いんですよ。レールが引かれている今の世の中ではすべてのものに名前が付いていて、それが使い方を規定しています。だから、いったん名前を外して『これって何をするものだろう？』と向き合うことにしたんです」
